The good things about this Bible are that it does contain major stories of the Bible with very colorful illustrations that children like. I find however that the very modern language used for the text makes teaching your child traditional Bible verses somewhat awkward. Even well-known passages have different wording that sometimes make the verse almost non-recognizable. I supplement this Bible with other texts for my son and sometimes I "translate" some verses to more closely resemble the King James, New King James or New American versions. Overall, my son enjoys being read to from this Bible. He asks for it every night!
The Bible stories are easy to read and understand. The stories are a good length to give a good summary of the story but not too long. Children will enjoy the illustrations.

After my niece gave her life to Christ, I knew it was best to give her a children's Bible (instead of her trying to read her mom's bible). I like the graphics in this book and a parent can read along with their child. I also like that it has all the books from Genesis to Revelation! and it's main stories enough to give a child a strong foundation. She loves it and kept telling me how much she likes the pictures. It also has a dictionary for the main terms used in the back. I brought it "used" but the person had it like new! It gives you more for less, the other book were either less quality in art work or not all the books within the bible. I even enjoyed reading this book, colorful and as simple as anyone can tell it!
I loan this out each week to one first grader in my class to read and recommend a story for me to read aloud. The pictures are cartoonish and that is part of the charm of this book. Everyone loves this book and helps lead into a fuller discussion of whatever we are reading. I wish I could give this as a First Communion present to each member of my class!

One of the best children's bibles I have purchased to get them interested. Has awesome artwork to keep the kids interested and just enough of a story to get the point across. This is used for children that can't read to children that are just starting to read. I would not make this their only Bible, once they are able to read fluently, I would purchase a real kids Bible that has the full Bible. I have purchased over 6 of these for nieces and nephews, and now one step grandchild and I purchased one a head of time for the new grand-baby to come in May. LOVE THIS BIBLE!!
