Got a small, analog controlled kiln to heat treat chert and jasper for flint knapping and I needed to determine temperature in relation to dial setting. This digital pyrometer does the job nicely Documentation is somewhat lacking on setup, but easy to figure out. Just make sure to tighten screws when installing the thermocouple to cable. So far the unit functions as promised.

Works perfect for a bladesmith! I have the ceramic probe in my propane forge and use the hand probe to get the quenching oil to temp. Easy to swap back and forth with the plug in design. ***Note*** I had to to Dremel the ceramic holes that the wire probe fits through because the holes didn't line up with the screw locks properly. Only complaint. Easy fix.

The product is very good. It worked very well to help me calibrate a kiln. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars us because there is no wiring diagram! Because other general instructions are included, it would take very little to include a piece of paper with a wiring diagram.

Have used only once. Seems to work accurately. The only problem is that the wire ends are not crimped into terminal securely, and slip out. I will have to replace terminals. Other than that, seems fine.
