  • Perfect upgrade for Dell Optiplex

I'm running a minecraft server on a 2009 Dell Optiplex 760 SFF and I exchanged the stock processor for this one. The Minecraft server only uses a single CPU core, so I got this CPU instead of the more expensive quad because this one actually gets higher single threaded performance and clock speed. Installation was easy, I just had to pop it in, add the paste, and remove the old CPU from the device manager. Works great, shipped on time, very happy with this purchase

  • old processor from 2008 but still very efficient for normal computing tasks or even light games

my computer came with a small 1.8 core 2 duo processor. this e8600 was the fastest dual core i could get to upgrade my old dell vostro desktop PC. by purchasing this cpu i did not have to upgrade my power supply or motherboard...so for 17 dollars i feel this was a solid upgrade. my specs are: Dell Vostro 200 mini tower case, Intel E8600 core 2 duo 3.33 processor, 4gb ddr2 667 ram, geforce gt 610 graphics, 160gb HD x7200 rpm, 250w dell power supply, OEM DVD burner, Dell foxconn OEM micro atx motherboard. This computer runs Win 10 x64 bit PRO runs very well and boots from OFF to Windows in about 35 seconds...not bad for a platter style hard drive.I will upgrade to a SSD when they get down to around 30 dollars fro 120g.

  • Nicely speeds up an older Dell 530S system

This CPU arrived clean and in perfect condition. It greatly increased the speed of an older Dell Inspiron 530S. The BIOS should be updated to the latest version available in order for this CPU to be recognized. (I believe the E8600 is the fasted CPU available for this particular system.) I was concerned that this faster chip might run too hot, but even with the stock cooler I haven't seen any problem.

  • Vostro 300 CPU upgrade

The old Vostro 300 had a horrible Celeron 430 so I had to put in something nicer to make the PC useful again. This was an easy install. First I checked with DELL and installed latest BIOS update and popped in this E8600. I added fresh thermal paste. Windows 10 unlike 7 is a bit dummy. I had to remove old CPU profile from device manager so Windows recognize there is new CPU. My sister is now much happier with the system

  • Used Processor

Dropped it in a refurb HP to boost it up some, updated bios and it worked without issue. Gained 400mhz a core over stock processor, really helped running webpages.

  • E8600 CPU

This cpu replaced an E8500 in my HP Compaq 6000 Pro SFF and the difference in speed was clearly evident on boot up. I highly recommend upgrading to this cpu if you are using an E8500 in this type of application

  • Worth the effort

To get fan off of the top of the heat sink in some HP 500B MT models, you need an allen wrench to loosen the screws. Once the fan is off, the heat sink comes off by pushing down on the pieces holding it in place. The processor comes out after releasing a lever next to the processor. The 8600 is a noticeable improvement over earlier processor models, and well worth the effort of upgrading

  • good replacement cpu

This processor is a 1/3 faster than the one it replaced. Took a chance fixing an older 775 Wolf dale, cpu just died, but this is worth the effort. It has a larger cache and faster FSB than my previous cpu. With the SSD it runs 64bit Windows 10 just fine.
