This is a more interesting version to the Tropico Family instead of being more of the same it is something different from the "same".The animation of drunken pirates returning to their ships to answer boarding call, is entertaining to say the least. The ships are fairly realistic and I have not seen a three masted brig as in other naval games I have played. What I did not like was the escape of so many captives from a supervised area or if by a watch tower ( both guards were always missing, doing other things ). The point of having a WATCH tower is to keep a lookout and this could not be done if BOTH guards were gone eating, drinking, etc. Also, the highest rate of ship types sunk was with the largest ones. Frigates,Galleons seem to sink more than the smaller types and are 2x expensive to replace. I had better luck with Schooners and Brigs and they seemed to give a better return on my investment in time and materials/money. Pirate Cove has humor,a bit of "adult" entertainment, business management,a bit of history and all round fun to play. The tutorial was helpful and less boring than other games and the opening/start animation was very cool. Enjoyed seeing the female pirate overseers in skimpy leather outfits, who ever thought that one up had a great sense of humor. I recommend this one for anyone teen and over, not because of any implied violence or sex. But only an older person would catch all the subtle things that are said and done during game play. They make it truly enjoyable. Thanks!!Read full review
This is a verry fun game for peaple who like building games and/or pirates. In Tropico 2 you can play the sinario or sand box or manny other fun options the grafix are great and gameplay wile it can be dificult ishighly entertaing. +you can train your piarts make them better. +higher your own captains and build wichever ship you want moast +rich eniverment and entertaing -when you try to cast off you crew mebers wone come running to the ship the'll keep doing what ever it was thay wanted to do when you told them to leave port till thay finish there bissness -the pirates walk everywhere and if you build a large island it will take them forever to get from the ship to where thay want to go and back to there ship
Its a pretty good game. The only problem is that your resources got used up pretty quick...but that was a matter of strategy. The graphics were okay, pretty good for little tiny people. What I found the most amusing was the zombie workers. If one of the pirates died you could plant them in the graveyard and for a price you could have voodoo done on them and voila! A zombie worker! They worked non-stop but really freaked out the other pirates. I bought this game because I heard it was a fun game, and I found out they were right. Better than building roller coasters...
LOve this game and loved tropico one!

Decent title for the good money. Nothing spectacular, worth not more than $10. Unlike previous Tropico, this one has different ruling and building structure. May not be the best for somebody looking to get easy game - very hard to achieve certain goals. Good luck.
