old as dirt but it has been revived
the old 2006 macbook is pretty much useless as a macbook these days so i stuffed it full of ram, and 256gb solid state drive and installed native windows 10 pro. yeah. i ditched the macOS since the version highest is el capitan you can install on the thing that OS is dead so I installed first Windows 7 Pro x64 it ran fine. i then wiped it and installed Windows 10 Pro x64. it runs good but not great. its ok though, at least now the hardware lives for another day. the unit i got was a bit beat up but it doesnt matter much to me. its a pain to take apart though. some things dont work right in Windows like audio. you can get audio out the headphone jack but not the speakers. (i'm an IT guy i know my way around in machines) the Trackpad sort of sucks cause you cant just tap to click you have to use the stupid buttons and you cant right click. I have an external mouse for all of that. Cool thing was there was no hardware hacking involved to install windows. just boot to a standard usb stick with the windows 10 setup iso on it and you're golden. boots to the usb just fine. i took the optical drive out since i never use them anyway. dropped in a drive caddy and stuck in a 500gb SSHD spinner for storage. works like a champ.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

I really like the sheer slickness of this laptop, and it seems to run great, also the battery in this one seems to be in working order. Be aware of what you are buying
This Mac book was great for what I wanted it for, my older sister only uses email and browses the web once in a while. Please be aware these machines cannot be upgraded past the Lion OS, but I needed a solid laptop she could use to check her emails and these are great for that. There is a difference between BAD battery and NO battery
I received my macboon with no battery in it. There is a difference between a bad battery and no battery, these people are simple scammers. Also the charger is some cheap Chinese ripoff.
