I came from an A8-3820 and wanted something stronger. The A8-3850 pretty much did the job and didn't break the bank. I could see a difference between the two cpu. I thought about the A8-3870k, but from the reviews, it wasn't worth it. Despite being used, it works and in really great condition. THIS IS A VAST IMPROVEMENT OVER THE ORIGINAL 2 CORE PROCESSOR
I purchased this 4 core processor to replace a 2 core low end processor in a SageTV media server. The 2 core processor worked about half the time with 1080P recorded video. It often shuddered on playback and attempting to run MCEBuddy at the same time was impossible. Then came this little jewel. Now I can record a show, while MCEBuddy is re-codeing 1080P shows and have processor to spare. MCEBuddy is running constantly removing commercials and making 6-15 GB recordings to recordings of less than 1 GB I am really impressed with this little processor and the way it functions.
