I upgraded my wife's 4 year old Sony VAIO laptop from a Pentium B960 this i5. Her computer is much more responsive now, her programs run smoother, and she can edit videos from our GoPro with no stuttering or freezing. This wasn't possible on the tired old pentium. Temps are much lower now, the Pentium would throttle and occasionally got so hot it would shut down the computer. Now CPU temps during a stability test only hit 70c. Great value for her upgrade, and only took 15 minutes to install. I also upgraded her memory from 4 GB of DDR 1066 to 8 GB of DDR 1333. With a tube of thermal compound, the total upgrade cost was $65. A fresh install of windows 10 and it's like she has a brand-new computer. Not bad for a $399 laptop from 2013.
