Great price on a name brand, Cool!
Why spend 800 dollars on a lens and nnot protect the front elements? This is a 'no-brainer'. In the todays digital camera scene you do not need a UV filter since the electronics in the camera do an automatic 'white balance'. So teh reality is you are only putting a filter on to protect the lens. They range in price from 8 bucks to 90 bucks, the 8 dollar ones are rather poorly made and some even warped out of the box so they will not screw onto your lens. This one by Polaroid is my second and both have been quality made with no complaints. Spend a little more for a known brand, you will be pretty safe in getting good quality. I would stay away from the 90 dollar ones though, but thats just me....
