I removed the "upgrade" rack and pinion system from my 77 vette to put this box in.
The geometry of the rack on my C3 vette was not ideal. The Borgeson box was a definite upgrade. The feel is better, the tight turning radius is back, the resistance feels more appropriate for freeway speed, and installation was a breeze. I did, however get adapters for the fluid line ends so I didn't have the fuss of the brass inserts and potential leakage. No problems, works great. I should note that I used the outer (manual steering) holes for my tie rod ends to slightly reduce the quick ratio and make it more easily manageable at higher speeds. The difference was just enough.
