The Weller I had owned since the Mid 1970's was lost in a California wildfire. I bought a new Weller 9400 100/140 thinking it should be the same as what I lost. It is really a sad excuse for a sodder gun. Based on reviews I decided to buy this vintage Weller 8200 which is clearly much higher quality than the new stuff. It heats fast and sodders very smooth. It is actually hot enough to make a solid sodder joint. I am thrilled with this purchase and it looks like new. It came in excellent condition. Thanks

Being old, probably around 50 years old, It is a quality, American made tool which I believe will outlast a new one at 1/3 the cost. Appears to have been used lightly and kept well.

The only drawback is that part of the housing was broken off . It works fine as is . I wish the pictures had shown the damage . It will serve me well for years .

My original Weller soldering iron was wasted by Harvey~ had it since 9th grade, that was in 1969! This one looks identical and works very well. Thank you for a cool product!

Heats quickly, and has enough power for my jobs. Quiet and not overly heavy.
