Can't Use Schmidt Refills
The Kaweco ballpoint is a fine pen when you use only Kaweco refills. I had some Schmidt D1's in green ink and they would stick in the barrel and not retract. The solution was to use a cutting broach and increase the diameter of the hole in the barrel. This works fine now with the Schmidt D1's until the Kaweco retract mechanism wears and lets go and the refill simply slides out the end of the barrel. The solution is to crimp the refill back about an inch from the ball point.
