Works until breaks
Sorry to give this a one-star rating. I used it for about 15 hours at the most, and loved the way it pulled up the Queen Anne's Lace weeds that I am trying to rid from my rose beds and surrounding areas. It got most of them up, tap root and all, in one try, and usually a second go would get the rest of the root if the first time was not effective. It was a pleasure to use, I would go out for what I thought would be an hour before or after dinner to plug away at the weeds, and I would forget the time because it was so easy and effective...and then the bottom fork, that acts as part of the pincher mechanism and is a fulcrum for the whole tool, broke off at the narrowest point. If there were a heavy duty extra strength version of this tool, even at a heavy duty extra high price, I would buy it, because of its ease of use and effectiveness, but at only 15 hours of use I can't recommend it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Perfect for prairie restoration
I use this for a specific purpose -- to remove invasive species from a 100 acre restored prairie. It's lightweight so I can carry it easily and strong enough and designed well enough to lever out species with 6" taproots -- particularly 'goatsbeard.' If it works for me on the prairie, it will work on the lawn. I like the 'eject' feature, too, so there is no bending down whatever. Takes a little getting used to in order to develop a technique. I place the wide side of the jaws over the plant, step on the lever to push down into the sod, and then with my foot on the lever, rock it back a forth first before giving a slight twist to the handle to 'lever' it out of the ground. I remove hundreds and hundreds of goatsbeard plants in 2 hrs. Used to use a spade, but not anymore.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Its a good thing!!
This is one of the first items (gadgets) that I have purchased that if used per the instructions does actually work! I have had mine for about two months and am amazed that it gets most of the dandelion root especially after a fresh rain shower and the ground is softer and moist.
