My husband accidently put our old remote in the washing machine and destroyed it. I expected that we would have to find a code or do some other gymnastics to program it, but it worked the moment we received it and it's identical to the last one we had. In the Tell Us More section, I put "no" on "Is it easy to use>" I'm assuming if you're buying it, you've had one before, and it does have a bit of a learning curve, and after a year, I'm still learning, but it has terrific features like a guide that gives you a synopsis of your program as well as as a full 24-hour display of programming, and a reminder to you to change the channel before your program begins. You can also program your stations so that you can hit a number, and the remote takes you there immediately. This was well worth the money my husband paid to replace the original.Read full review

Main power button was the issue with previous remote. Thought it was something to do with programing, but after a call to LG tech, it might be remote itself. Hmmm. Didn't have any choice but buying another remote. As soon as received, battery in and 'voila!' Every button works like charm.

The only thing is it would be nice if you could use two of the pointer/voice remotes on the same TV. Only one works at a time with these functions. I bought two and found out that way. It would be nice if the description mentioned that. Oh well, now I have a spare.

Generally easy to use. There's a short learning curve discovering how to phrase voice commands and search requests in a "format" it understands. Biggest complaint is that it lacks the original remote's button with a square symbol, which ends playback of the current video. This RC has a button with a "U-turn" symbol whose function is similar, but not exactly the same.

Pointer is nice, and it has tactile layout which is much better than stock. Voice search in the TV is good. My pet peeve though: To press enter, you have to press the wheel, which often scrolls and you press the wrong thing.
