As a New Mexican, I enjoyed seeing familiar Western scenery. Sam Elliot and Woody Harrelson are fine actors, I had the pleasure of working crew in two of their other films. There's some violence in the script, but welcome to the West. Overall, a fine film that somehow fell through the cracks and never found a large audience. It's the only film that likely ever shot a couple scenes in remote Kim in SE Colorado (the little town with three tall grain elevators). I though it was very authentic as a period film, even the c & w music was from a lost era, and Don Walker was somehow a surprise in that I really liked his singing voice in the dance scene.

Very enjoyable movie with a lot of "local" flare. Don't know why it wasn't more popular with Sam Elliott, Woody Harrelson, Patricia Arquette, and Penelope Cruz. Well made with good acting and a storyline that rang true even though fictitious.
Very good movie
