Given that IDE is inherently slow, this is still a good buy for a computer that can only run an IDE drive.
I recommend an IDE SSD drive where possible. IDE HDDs are just to slow for modern uses. Having said that, I have a system that has to run an HDD and does not support SATA. This drive is the best answer. It is new and quiet and so far has not shown any issues at all. I recommend it where an IDE HDD is the only option. NOT A LAPTOP COMPUTER DRIVE
These drives are advertised as "Internal Hard Disk Drives for Laptops" they are not!! ....they are for non movable-gaming consoles, etc.. Right on the HDD it is printed "NOT SUITABLE FOR LAPTOP COMPUTER USE" These drives will fail within a year, depending on how much motion they experience in a laptop.
