A small office setting or a medium-sized residence can take advantage of the powerful features and simplified setup that comes with the Linksys SE1500. For devices that are placed in proximity with the switch, it is more ideal to implement a wired network for speed and consistent performance, advanced network security and minimal battery consumption of rechargeable devices. Built with five 10/100 fast Ethernet ports, this unit enables you to connect up to five devices to your network. Easily plug in computers, laptops, printers, gaming consoles and storage devices into this 5-port device, to get data transmission rates at up to 10 times the speed of Ethernet connections. Auto-sensing capability is also integrated into this unit, which enables each port to automatically check and prioritize settings based on networking conditions. This Linksys device comes with exceptional power savings features to help you optimize energy efficiency in your network. Unused ports are automatically disabled to minimize electrical consumption. Its built-in sleep mode functionality switches on when these interfaces are idle or become inactive. When shorter wires are used to connect devices, a smaller supply of electrical current is also delivered. In addition, this unit provides you the option to either turn on or turn off the light emitting diode (LED) status indicators; if you prefer no lights, a small button at the back of the device easily toggles off the LEDs. Powered by Cisco, the Linksys SE1500 model has built-in QoS that enables your network to prioritize important traffic types. Works perfectly if you don't have WiFi and need more internet connects
Works perfectly! We needed more than one internet connection as we chose to not have WiFi. I connected my laptop to it for use at the kitchen table. My son connected his XBox to it so he could game, all while my youngest did gaming on the desktop. It allowed us to multitask without WiFi. Thanks for a great product!

Good small switch from Cisco
Bought this un-managed Cisco switch for linking computers in a small domain. Worked great right out of the box so I highly recommend it. It handles 10/100 mbps per second per port but does not support gigabyte bandwidth however, it is fine for simple LAN setup.
