A Dirt Devil Can Help Machinists Work Better
I use it in my machine shop to clean up the metallic machining wastes, which destroy the larger vacuums but not this one. It collects and dumps out wood and metallic saw dust well also. Inexpensive small vacuum to keep handy
It's small, but good enough to pick up crumbs and pet hair off of a tile or hardwood floor for quick cleaning. The built-in crevice tool is convenient. The one negative is that it doesn't come with anyway to mount on a wall, or hang it up. So it sits on the floor. It does the job for the price
You get what you pay for, its was a great deal but battery life on this thing is poor. It's brand new and the single charge doesn't go long enough compared to other compared handheld vacuum. 3 stars for being good enough and the price did match that value. Purchased this for a quick clean up instead of getting my large vacuum cleaner out... wonderful for long term clean up as batter last at least 15minutes and beyond... (and that is a lot of cleaning time!) I initially purchased for house issues but found it also is a excellent help in cleaning litte nooks and crannies... workbench-car floor-back cracks in sofa-husbands shirt after cutting hair... Okay for an affordable DustBuster
The DirtDevil V6 is an affordable, convenient & easy-to-use, DustBuster. It has a sleek hide-n-slide extension piece for small crevices & getting in corners. When you want the regular open-mouth opening of the handheld vacuum, simply pull it, fold-it, & snap it back into it's built-in slot; tucked-away for convenience. I didn't expect this $20 DustBuster to have the same power of stand-up vacuum but I did expect it to hold its 5.8/6V of power longer than 20 minutes of use-brand new. That's why I only give 3 stars because it doesn't hold its charge for long. This is on day #2. 6-9 months from now is a different story and I would give it 4-5 stars. For its price it is fantastic.
I had read reviews prior to purchase, and had seen that the primary reason for sub 4 star reviews was because of how long it lasted (people kept saying 5 minutes at most), but that is what these little things are meant for. Easy, light, and small plus a strong suction for dry dust/dirt. I use this to clean up the litter cats track onto the carpet and around their box/mat as well as any other dry dust/dirt issues. I went over the entire bedroom without turning it off and it was still going strong, but was full (don't judge lol), emptied it and cleaned some more small things up. Summary: a compact dirt devil ("dust buster" from when I was growing up) is meant to operate as a quick fix up, not your entire home's vacuum. 5 minutes, or more in my case, is much longer than you should have one of these running without turning off. IF you need more than that time you need a plugged vacuum because you're not doing a "quick clean up" as these types of devices are intended for.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
