Bad design
The portion of the part that is made of plastic cannot handle the work it has to do. I’ve replaced three. Others on multiple Nissan Titan forums have the same problem. ALL MANUFACTURERS should be accountable when they produce a poor product/part. But Nissan is aware of this and other failures and frankly they don’t give a damn.
