As far as I know this type of device is no longer manufactured since the technology is very old. This model includes HDMI output that makes it compatible with all of todays Smart TVs. It also has excellent dubbing capabilities as well. I own one of these and ordered another for my Mother in law (87) to watch her old VCR tapes and DVD movies. She has already watched several Tapes and DVDs and totally enjoyed it. Fairly easy to use the device and remote. The picture quality is consistent with what you can expect from a VCR / DVD unit. So overall it probably was one of the best of these type units ever made. It is a 5 Star product that's no longer made. If you find one in good shape, grab it before they are gone forever! Highly recommend.

What makes this unit nice is in a modern system with HDMI, you only need that connection. And this unit turns on the other HDMI pieces in the chain such as the TV and a receiver if you have one. It also changes your receiver over to it's input if you were watching the DVR/cable/sat box. When you put in a video tape, it routes that to the HDMI. And when you put in a DVD, it routes that out to the HDMI. So, it automates playback into an easy to use way, great for the older generation that was used to playing video tapes and how the VCR just switched automatically between TV Tuner and VCR. Full featured remote, but if you get a used one without one, you can not access all the features. If you have a Samsung TV remote, it may handle the basic functions. A few original remotes remain on eBay too. Nitpicks: has a little bit of audio hum when you stop playing and some audio thumps at starting and stopping, but just a little. Might not be the best picture or sound compared to higher end units, but is fine, just a bit lighter in color saturation and richness of audio, but fully acceptable. Attached power cord makes plug in a little harder if in a cabinet compared to a detachable cord. Read full review

This unit is perfect for what it's intended for. Very easy to set up and use; the on-screen menu is very intuitive and practically guides you through the basic setup. If you're not familiar with various terms (16:9, resolution settings, etc.) the manual will serve as a good reference. One drawback it has is the front display. It's so dim you can't see it from across the room. Fortunately all commands are acknowledged on-screen so you can tell what the unit is doing. This is the only reason I didn't rate the unit as excellent. Be wary of copy-guarded VHS tapes - the unit will not copy them to DVD, and you will only find out after starting the copy and wasting a blank DVD.
This device works well: however without a remote (It was specified as not having one) I am unable to access the menu to finalize discs I make. I went online to try and find one, and found out they are no longer available. This is a real hassle to be limited to playing them back on this unit only.

First time using a vhs to dvd dubbing machine. Take time to read instructions-will make things easier. That said this machine works flawlessly. Using it to convert vhs home videos to dvd. Dvd copies are very clear and audio is very good as well. Remote is easy to navigate. Overall pretty easy to use. Really appreciate my experienced seller packing this for transportation. I have never received an item packaged this well. Not sure handlers could have damaged it if they tried!
