These replaced an older set where one was leaking a bit. If you drive your truck in winter with road salt they won't look pretty for long. My exhaust runs past the shock body on the passenger side (rear) so was wondering if that contributed to it's shorter life before leaking. The shock body is up high with the shaft going down to the axle. Unfortunately the shock eyes are different size so you can't mount it in upside-down with the shock body at the rear axle. They do control the suspension reasonable well but in my 2001 F250 7.3L 4x4 supercrew with 4" superlift springs the ride is pretty rough - but that's mainly the fault of the springs I'm using.
