Spark diagnostic necessity
Purchased spark tester for old V6 Merc. Two directly adjacent coil wires from same bank will reach lower 2 (or top 2) male inputs on tester. Purchased pack of 4 interposing connecting CDI cables to provide sufficient interposed length for top coil wire on ipsilateral (starboard) bank and the three coil wires on the contralateral (port) bank. With all 6 wires snugly connected to the tester, it clearly demonstrated spark generation from each coil. Moved needles out to 1/2" gap, since weak stator may still generate spark over 1/4" gap. Be sure to remove plugs prior to spinning starter by energizing solenoid with independent external switch wire.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A little short of what's in the box
The price of the tool is overpriced!, it's about a $40 tool! The company offers A extension wire set that's not in the box! The tools versability is lost without the wires set!, And the tool could be about 5 inches longer in length along with a little more space inbetween where the wires connect!, even at it being overpriced this tool dose make the job a whole lot faster.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
