Unfortunately, there are a lot of imposters out there selling for $10 but you get what you pay for. If this crankshaft position sensor fails, your engine will not run. I purchased a used VW Jetta and I recently had intermittent stalling due to a faulty crank sensor. As soon as I removed the sensor, I immediately noticed that the previous owner had installed an aftermarket sensor that was not Bosch quality. I ordered this Bosch sensor, installed it and have been running trouble free ever since. I drive a lot of miles and I've worked on a lot of cars. One lesson that I have learned over the years it so stay clear of low quality parts.
