Lightweight and easy to use
I bought this to replace a 13 year-old Dyson 07. The older vacuum still seems to work OK, but we have two cats now and it had trouble picking up cat hair. This does a great job and I especially like the attachment with the rotating brushes. The roller ball is easier to use than the older vac. Also, with the beater bar jutting out it's easier to vacuum under furniture. The only problem I had with it was getting the beater bar attached securely. It came off three times the first time I used it before I was able to get it to snap on tight. I also like the smaller size and lighter weight since I'm older now. I would recommend this to anyone needing a vac.

Great vacuum!
Works far better than our previous vacuum which was a Hoover bag less rewind model. The DC40 does a much better job on carpet and is no comparison when it comes to hard wood or tile floors. Initially, I had a complaint that the Dyson filled the bin too quickly or that it perhaps needed a larger bin and then I realized it is just cleaning so much better so of course it will pick up more and fill the bin more quickly. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Overall good product
Been using dyson for many years and loved them. The only problem with this one is the cord is too short. Still trying to get used to the ball also. Been using the DC 07 and DC 14 and it's hard to get used to the ball. I'm sure it will get easier.

Easy to use lightweight
I really like this vacuum. It is lightweight and the attachments are great. It is easy to use. I love how you can see all the dirt and dust it picks up. I have tile floor and it picks up all my pets hair. It also transitions from floor to carpet really easily. Love it!!!

Powerful, lightweight, easy to empty.
I have 3 Dyson machines, all 3 having different features. This one fills the middle position. It is lightweight which allows you to pull it out for a quick pickup on all floor surfaces. I have the cordless for stairs and a quick run around the kitchen. The workhorse Dyson is for deep cleaning. This powerful, lightweight machine is the one I use the most. It has the easy empty collection bin which is so simple to use. I love this machine and wouldn't buy any vacuum that isn't a Dyson.

Dream come true!
We wanted to buy a vacuum that would work well and last a long time. All of the ones we couldn’t afford great but all the ones that were within our budget we’re crap!
