  • Your basic no-frills x79 board, does what it says on the tin.

This is a great x79 board and works well paired with an inexpensive Xeon E5 2670, or possibly another E5 series Xeon. It has plenty of ram slots and six sata ports sufficient for workstation or light server duty. The four PWM fan headers allow you take advantage of pwm fans for quiet, cool operation. I like the diagnostic lights and onboard power and reset switches, which make troubleshooting a breeze. If you're looking for a good x79 board for overclocking, you may want to look elsewhere however, as there is no additional cooling at all supplied for the VRMs. Pros include adequate sata ports, *plenty* of USB 2.0 headers, and does support one legacy PCI slot for your older RAID controllers or the like. I also like the aesthetic of the all blue on black design, but that's more subjective. For cons I'd have to say the lack of a USB 3.0 front panel header on the revision of board I have is a downside, but not a deal breaker for me.

  • Superior board

This is an Intel board, so that speaks for itself. Everything is rock solid, no gimmicky software this and hardware that to cause any unscheduled reboots. Everything works as advertised. These boards are a few years old so the last BIOS and firmware updates from Intel are a few years old. However, what I like about this board is its reliability, I'm running ESXi 6.0 and have had no issues.

  • Works well

CPU: e5-2620 RAM: Crucial Ballistix 1833 8x8GB GPU: GeForce Asus GTX1060 some minor issues: doesn't compatible with PCI TP-LINK TL-WN851ND, hangs, working slow but works well wil PCI-E TP-LINK adapter, I guess it's problem with Wi-Fi card hangs with mouse detection in bios connected through USB 3.0 hub, with directly connected mouse works well mouse - Steelseries Rival 300

  • Intel DX79TO

Not enough pcie lanes. Have an issue with the board not completing POST when my usb 3.0 hub is turned on. Otherwise fully functional. The switch on the back to allow direct to bios options is convenient.

  • Fast X79 board, very nice BIOS

Nicely designed X79 system. This is first Intel board I've had. Previously used ASRock. This is much better design.

  • Intel screwed the pooch

The lack of a front USB 3.0 header was completely unnecessary. Otherwise the board is nice, looks nice and 8 DIMMs of quad channel is likely too much for most people. Although no longer supported, Intel's driver and tech support wasn't that great. Really too bad.

  • Running a e5 2650

I do everything on this build with no issues. Not changing to a Ryzen or new platform till I absolutely have to. Still running strong after 2 years of continuous use.
