A Good Showcase of Contemporary Televsision Art and Drama, with a Caveat.
I was really impressed with this television experience. I do not own a TV, so would rent the DVDs from Netflix. My stance has always been that if something is worthwhile, to purchase it. (I do this with library books, for instance.) I wasn't alone in thinking Jessica Lange's character Constance Langdon was remarkable --she won an Emmy for the performance. This series is not for everyone in that it can be gruesome, there is violence against women, elements of odd metaphysics, the old "sex, drugs, & rock-and-roll." But I believe this to be a "today's classic" and for that reason purchased it. I know I will want to watch it again sometime.
