I purchased this phone to only be used for talking, I'm not into the texting nor interested in accessing the internet. My SIM card from my flip phone was to large for this unit and had to bring it to ATT (at no charge since I have service with them)
Not sure why it's call a smartphone, you can access the internet but I did that with my Samsung flip, (no touch screen, maybe because you can link to WiFi) you still have to use the key pad arrows to toggle around the website.
This is a HEAVY duty phone that seems indestructible. Reception is fair compared to my old flip, but when you do have a good connection the speaker and mic are very clear.
The display is much easier to read and you can change font size which is nice. It does have a built in backlight which I guess is also used as the flash for the camera.
The thing I dislike the most is the 2way push to talk button on the side, that if activated pops up a screen that indicates that I don't have the 2way capability subscription, it has to be acknowledged before the phone can be used for anything else. I have not figured out how to disable the button. Other than that I'm very satisfied with this unit.
