This throne is built like a tank. I recommend getting the backstop with it (sold separately of course) to enjoy the maximum comfort. If you have a short inseam, be aware that even in the fully lowered position, the seat position is relatively high. Couple that with the fact that the tractor style seat is very large (19 inches wide by 16 1/2 inches deep) more than half of a 30 inch inseam is used up just by the seat alone. It's very pricey especially when you add the cost of the backrest, but the quality is there and it's the last one you will ever need to buy. I gave it four stars because of the price and the fact that it's really only of use to taller people. If you're a big ol boy, this is the seat for you. The adjustable cylinder is solid and will raise enough to make a 6 foot drummer's heels leave the floor and put him on his toes at it's maximum raised position. It is very comfortable though especially with the backrest. 4 or 5 hours of non - stop playing should be no problem with this throne. Hope this review helps.
