It does what it's supposed to
It just works. Microset goes under the decal, Microsol goes on top, and once it dries up, it's on there. I've yet to use it over panel lines, but so far it works great for curved pieces.The only downside I can think of is the cost for what seems like a small amount, but what you get is enough for hundreds of decals, so it isn't the worst thing in the world. The only reason not to use it this is to go with something by another brand, but this is what was most convenient for where I live. Simply the Best
Microsoft and Microsol are simply the best decal solutions you can buy. They work extremely well at preparing deals and sucking them down into every paneline. MicroSet/MicroSol Decal Film Kit
These products worked well for me. I used the kit to mold a set of company name decals on HO model train buildings. The decals needed to mold themselves around some sharp corners as it crossed the walls of the building. The decals were about six inches long and I used a dull hobby knife to coax the decal into the 90 degree corners as it wrapped around posts that extended from the outside walls of the building. A must for setting decals
Use water to separate and slide the decal from the backing paper onto your model. Use Micro Set to position and seal, particularly the edges of the decal. With difficult (thicker) decals and/or surface irregularities, use Micro Sol in addition to Micro Set. Follow directions and watch a tutorial video. Not to shabby
A little stinky, micro set doesnt seem to be anything more than vinegar and doesnt really seem to aid in adhesion. Microsol on the other hand seems to work pretty good!, It makes the decal (and clear coat that I applied to decals after printing) soften up and become much more pliable and helps conform to the shape of what its being applied to. Be careful though because to much solution and messing with the decal to much can tear the decals. But I am still fairly satisfied with my purchase, I think they are a little overpriced considering there isnt much to it. I used this stuff for years and it's the best in the west you will not find anything any better. It is so good that you might want to take a little sip, but DON'T it's meant for setting and removing decals. not drinking. This duo is a must for modelers whose tasks include applying decals. I utilize them when refurbishing model train bodies. Some of the decals are quite fragile, and it is necessary to apply Micro Sol to enable the decal to easily slide onto and position properly on the surface.
