I have owned Cannon and Epson printers before. The Cannon was the best until the head went bad. I have not gone back to Cannon because of their lack of firmware updates to fix known problems. I liked the information on the HP, the price was right, so decided to give it a try. I did not give it more than 3 stars because of the problem of printing after sitting idle for a period of time, say a week. I takes concentrated time to perform head maintenance and several sheets of paper before you get it to print correctly. Pictures - forget it. And I am using the HP ink, always have. The Epson didn't even last a year with the same problems and I don't print all that much. The purchase was easy and received quickly.

This is a good unit for copying documents and [printing colored pictures. I don't like that it cant scan to a flash drive due to no USB port. Have not networked it as of yet but will soon. Again a good unit for the price.

Solidly made with exception of internal plastics which all printers have nowadays. Not a flimsy feeling frame that twists. Excellent software and utilities. Download latest HP software from site. The provided CD has earlier version of software.

So far, we have been very happy with out new printer. Set up was easy, we've used it quite a bit, with no paper jams and the colors are good.
