I think this is one of the best Jazz/Blues guitars in its price range. I am very happy with the sound on this one. However, I would recommend anyone who is not very experienced in setting up a guitar should take their new guitar, as I have done with this one, to an experienced repair and set-up specialist. It is worth a little money to get the guitar set-up in a way that will enhance the sound and make it as easy as possible to play.
I was in the market for a red color 335 guitar in honor of Chuck Berry. I have a Les Paul 56 Goldtop & a Squire Stratocaster so the 335 would round out my guitar collection. Ibanez makes some really nice guitars that are played by famous people like George Benson & John Scofield so when I saw this listing for a 335 style for under $400, I was overjoyed. The pickups sound great and the overall feel is nice.
It looks beautiful and plays fantastic once you take some time to carefully set things up. I'm surprised just how much a simple set up improved the feel and sound of this guitar. Every bit as nice as a ES 335 at 1/10 the price
