These tripods are sturdy and well-constructed. After researching the net and comparing the various brands and pricing...these tripods are of heavy-duty craftsmanship and based on weight are similar or identical to leading big brand-name tripods which appear to be made in the same Chinese factory but have difference names affixed. I have several different tripods and builders transit levels and laser levels and continue to be amazed at the ridiculous prices vendors are asking for so-called premium top-of-the-line survey equipment that just has a different name printed on the tool. best buy on a level tripod
The Tripod was very well constructed, has easy to adjust leg locks made from a type of polymer material, and obviously injection molded. The feet are metal and although one small rubber tip protector was missing from the packaging, I doubt I'd use them anyway as majority of my setups are out in the dirt or other bare ground areas. The table top appears to be ground flat and the Bosch 24x optical level mates perfectly with this tripod as I'm sure all other instruments would that are made for surveying work. The height capability is quite sufficient for me (I'm only 5'-5" tall) and can be made far to high for my comfortable use so even a tall guy will find this quite satisfactory. The bright orange color is easily seen from quite a distance. I'd give this a 5 out of 5 star rating. Definitely cheaper than most and well worth the cost.

Good Camera-specific Tripod Alternative!!
Rugged, stable tripod. I have attached a gimbal head camera mount to the flat head and added a web to limit travel of the legs for my particular purpose. It is very stable and will hold large camera mounted telephoto lenses. A great unit for the price.
A good quality build for most devices using a 5/8" 11 female mount......my old Lietz transit is a 10 pounder....this is the max I would expect this tripod to handle.....It handles it well....very steady. I don't like the fact that you can't tighten the leg straddle tension as tight due to the plastic posts the leg hinges use, and I actually stripped one bolt trying to do so.
