  • Nice multi-function wireless printer

Easy to set up and comes with all the features needed for home activity. My previous Brother printer, the 775 DW version, unfortunately lasted only 2 years before becoming afflicted with 'ghost jams' and we could not clear the error messages. Had to replace it and was willing to take a gamble on another Brother printer because of other successes and low ink usage. None OEM cartridges are available for this model also at a fraction of the cost of OEM.

  • Operating manual would have been helpful. Other than that, a great product.

It was easy to set up though a more detailed operating manual would have been helpful when it came time to print needing to change the paper size. I found a manual online and that is starting to help, but I have yet to figure out totally how to print on a 4"x6" card. I do think it is possible. I just have to figure it out.

  • Brother all-in-one printer

After using Canon for many years their tech svc. went to H--- and they quit supporting the model I had. No parts available even for minor repairs. Local shop who is authorized agent for many brands said they had less trouble with Brother than any other brand. Also a close friend who uses Brother at his job and home said even with heavy usage he's had no trouble. It took a little getting used to (expected) and I am now a happy camper. Haven't tried printing photos yet, but they are a very small part of my use.

  • Small printer with great features

I have set up many printers in my life. This one was a snap. It stays connected to our WiFi, and prints easily from multiple devices. I have been using Brother printers for over 10 years now. The only thing I am curious about is the inkjet cartridges and their cost over time. I have had laser printers for years. Time will tell. I like the small size of this printer, as my home office is now a corner of the dining room - due to Covid restrictions - my husband took over our home office for his workspace.

  • As always terrific printer but set up needs work.

Since I found Brother printers I have been a faithful user, my only problem with this one is that I cannot seem to connect it wirelessly, luckily for me it doesn't really matter . The access is easy for any problems that may arise, but be aware that they only provide you with a "starter pack" of ink and so you will need to re-supply almost assoon as you get your printer.

  • Brother MFC-J497DW all-in-one printer.

I have used Brother printers on a commercial scale, purchased well over 100 printers throughout my career. Brother machines out perform all other brands I have tried. This Work Smart MFC-J497DW is replacing my personal 10+ year old Brother machine. Set-up was a breeze and I am quite amazed of the print quality for such an inexpensive all-in-one. The Control Center 4 software is quite a nice touch.

  • Good printer

It is a good printer for the price. Prints both sides. But I felt the printing is slower than my old Epson, and print quality is slightly poorer. It does the job as we mostly print documents.

  • it is good replacement of older MFC Brother.

Very pleased with the replacement of my 12 year old MFC printer. This has a scanner flat top as well as a feed for papers to copy or scan and print. The space used on desktop is same size as old one. This one prints on both sides of paper where old one did not. No wires now to my laptop, it is wireless.

  • Great upgrade from an older model

Brother is my go-to brand for printers. I bought this one to replace the one I bought right after Hurricane Katrina in 2005! So far it has been great. The set up was quick and easy. It was easy to connect it to my home network. It is not as big or bulky as my previous one. Office Depot was sold out of the ink when I went to the store to buy it for the first time, which was a bummer.

  • Good Printer

I bought this printer because I was tired of paying such high prices for HP ink. This is a good Printer except for the ink cartridges are smaller than the older model yet more costly. Haven't figured that one out yet but they are still A LOT cheaper than HP Inkjet.
