It works but range is nowhere near what Arlo says it is.
In my experience the Smarthub is only marginally better than simply using Wifi from my router. The range is nowhere near the advertised 300 feet in the real world. Our property is 100 X 55 feet and the Smarthub can't connect with camera's in both the front and back yard. To get my four camera's to work effectively I installed a Netgear PL1000 in a room at the front of the house and connected the Smarthub to it which allowed the camera's to function properly in the front yard. The two camera's in the back yard are configured to feed through wifi to my router which is in a room facing the back yard.
The attached screen capture is from one of the two front yard camera's. The camera is showing 2 bars out of three. This camera is about 30 feet from the Smarthub.
Setup of the hub and connecting it to the cameras is a hit or miss effort. The online instructions are little help. Use the reset on the Smarthub to get it to pick up the internet connection and hold down the "connect" button on the cameras until the led flashes orange.
Any interruption of internet connectivity or line power causes the cameras and hub to stop communicating necessitating a complete redo of the setup procedures.
Overall, poor value for the money.
Forced to have something like this to view Floodlight video
As far as the product goes, it works but very annoying you need to have a port fwrding to view the later cameras like the floodlight. Why not just leave it alone? It also is too pricey in my opinion.
