I have to say that when I first got this it seemed a little “chincy”, but it worked flawlessly ! I put a little grease on the jaw area to aid removal and within 30 seconds the toughest crown race I have ever uncounted was off I would have given 5 stars BUT the finish and bolts seem like they might rust up quickly (FYI I’m a tool snob), as a tool like this in the hands of an amateur mechanic like myself won’t get used often... l’ll just keep it well oiled

I've been taking my bicycle frames to the local bike shop to have fittings removed at times. This tool allows me to do the crown race myself. It attaches easily and the tapping process to remove the crown race is quite straight forward. I do notice that the edges chip with every use. I suppose that will happen and there will come a time when the tool will need replacement. It has paid for itself with very few uses.

It’s a budget alternative but it works fine. Just take your time and don’t expect miracles. Some crown races are just harder to get off than others are. I successfully removed a couple different races from two forks so I’m happy.

Easy to use. Works well. Perfect for the home mechanic. Not quite high enough quality steel for a professional environment where it's used constantly. Good value.

Great tool for removing the crown race and very affordable.
