ID-O-MATIC 4 repeater controller for Motorola gm repeaters
As a EC for our county ARES team and trustee for four repeaters I have used four different brands & models of repeater controllers on Motorola radios. The ID-O-Matic is a top pick for use in Amateur radio or commercial use at bargain price. Easy to program, versatile, small in size and the reliability factor is outstanding. The rebroadcast audio is as good or better than controllers costing 5 times as much! Sine wave foot print is near perfect on cw id. I am currently using three units in our county & will install two more in the next 2 months to replace ageing units. The unit preforms perfectly in all environments. We have never had a lockup in two yrs of heavy use. Two systems are linked via VoIP and delay is adjustable down to minimum hang time for seamless operation. The only addition to the controller that I would like to see is a multi port unit for remote base operation. I would recommend the controller to any group wishing to replace there basic controller due to lock up or poor rebroadcast audio problems.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I asked for the unit to be programmed with the repeater call sign n9fjs. I hear no CW. out of the unit.
I have tried to reach Dan to find out why I have no CW. ID. Its been a week and no response from anyone. I need to find out why it is not IDing in cw. I will send it back for reprogramming if necessary. The program Putty will not load up on my computer. I like the product it self , but with out the program being right it cannot be installed the way it is. The voice ID is unreliable. audio cuts out halfway throught the message. The ID-O-Matic 4 Repeater Controller is a great value; small size, low price, large capability. This unit allows you to connect two ham radios back-to-back creating a standalone VHF/UHF repeater. It can also be used on HF as a foxhunt controller, a beacon, or an ID timer. This controller is universal to almost all radios. It is not designed for any particular model radio. The digital inputs and outputs can be programmed for active high or active low levels. Three pots easily control various audio levels. Unless you are very new to amateur radio the programming options are straight forward and easily understood. The GUI is DOS based and some experience with that operating system will help understand the flow of the programming. It programs fine with Windows XP and Win 7. This controller comes fully assembled and tested. The board layout is well designed and uses quality components. Complete documentation is available online. An optional low cost audio board is available for use with this controller to give voice ID's or other announcements. We have purchased several of these repeater controllers using them with various radios. This IDer/Controller is just the thing for setting up your GMRS repeater using the Motorola GM300/ Maxtrac radios. It is a high quality circuit board that is well laid out, adjustments for CW ID deviation when it triggers during a voice transmission, can be timed to ID at what ever interval you need. Great for the price
First if you're using this on Motorlas be sure to turn on the COR on pin 8 or you'll drive yourself nuts. Setup was super easy and the audio quality is good but there is some interference in the output audio that I can't get figured out yet with simple testing but it's still very readable. Round Two!
SO this is my second ID-O-M. I purchased the ID-O-M II years back and was extremely pleased until i recently blew it up during a new build project. (totally my fault) ;) I will say the enclosure is lacking stand-offs and fitted cut-outs but for the price and it being included i can weight the value against running to radio shack and grabbing some! ;) I am quite excited to get this new ID-O-M 4 up and running with voice. I know this unit will be amazing after using its predecessor for many years! If you want a quality, in-expensive and fun to use Repeater Controller this is the way to go!!!
