Ive read negative reviews of people taking this camera to the great barrier reef and other exotic places. For trips of that magnitude, invest in more than a forty dollar camera. For the rest of us filming a hike in the woods, a snorkeling trip, hobbies, etc i think this more than meets expectations for forty dollars. The case is reliably waterproof to at least 50 feet. Ive placed it in our ocean crab traps several times. It has frozen on me because I didnt wait for video to render after shooting. If one waits it doesnt freeze. As with any waterproof case, be gentle with the buttons. Its the only place that penetrates the waterproof barrier. The microphone isnt that great so take that into consideration and test it before you need it so you have an idea of what it can do. The resolution is factory by default set to lower. So go into menu and increase to 12 mp. I believe for the price itll meet most of your basic needsRead full review
