Great for Kindle books
I have a 10" Fire I use for Netflix and Prime. But the Kindle book app has limited display options. I spend 10 hours a day on the computer for work, I needed something easier on the eyes for reading my Kindle Unlimited books at night. Love my Kindle!
I absolutely love the Kindle 8.9. I have actually bought 3. My first one I had for two years and accidently dropped it on the tile in my house, it hit the corner of the tablet really hard. The only problem with it is a bit of broken LCD bleeding at the top. Still fully functional. My 2nd to replace the first. My 3rd to trade off when I get into a reading streak and keep forgetting to plug it in. (And to loan to my kid.) The screen is the perfect size, especially as my eyes are not focusing as well as they used to. Better screen resolution than the newer ones.

This is my third Kindle and I love the big screen. The display is great and the spaces around the screen allows you to hold the Kindle without accidentally turning the page.
