When properly restored w/ a quality new battery that meets or exceeds minimum original specs, while not being too big for the unit to charge with it's limited charging capability these can provide the time to shut down all your basic work. Should you be doing something more power/time consuming I suggest you get the adapter cord and software that is almost never included with used devices and develop very good back up habits. Programs like MS Office back up at varying times around 8-10 minutes, program ver. or setting dependent. CorelDraw can be quite annoying w/ the auto backup. I suggest getting things set manually to 5-6 minutes for all programs. It may cause stutters in work, but I do graphics and the stutter while it backs up may be annoying, but is far better than losing everything. For those like me who need something to run their cutter/plotter set up, NG! I suggest you look further up the food chain in size and look into deep cycle batteries. Hackers only below this line---------------------------------------- For those who think you can frankenUPS these PLEASE READ! Do not toss a not recommended battery into any UPS, and before you start running wires to external batteries read the plentiful material available online. 12v UPS batteries take far less to charge than a boat or truck battery, this UPS WILL NOT CHARGE THOSE TYPES PROPERLY!. In looking for the proper batteries for the ones like these that I have purchased I have seen some crazy stories and videos. Simply put, batteries need a set charging voltage and cycle, a trickle charging UPS could explode a car battery with no load, or make it cook off harmful and explosive gasses, one of which is Hydrogen Sulfide gas. Batteries are electric, computers are electric, anything turning on or off like a fan or other...a spark with a hydrogen gas cloud.... Do NOT think you are smarter than the makers.
