Helping get the most from an old system.
I've been a computer tech for 25 years. I have an older (10+ years) Dell GX270 tower PC. But, it has a 3.4GHz Pentium 4 HT CPU with 800MHz FSB, 4Gb of 800MHz DDR RAM, a DVD burner, a 160Gb IDE boot drive, a 500Gb IDE "extra" drive, onboard SATA with two 2Tb drives just for storage (yes, that's over 4.5Tb of just hard drive space), onboard Gigabit NIC, 8 onboard USB ports plus an add-in USB & Firewire card, and it runs Windows 7 Pro 32-bit just fine. I hated to let it go, so I added a nice WiFi card and a wireless mouse & keyboard set. All I needed was a decent video card, but AGP cards are getting scarce. eBay to the rescue as usual. I tend to go with Nvidia or ATi cards. I am very happy with this Geforce 6200. It has the output ports I need, gives excellent color depth and resolution, and the control center has all the features and tweaks I could ever need. I am very happy. I have been using eBay for probably close to 15 years, with very positive results, and will continue to do so, as well as recommend eBay to others.
