Kadee Whiskers are the Happy Medium
These Kadee "whisker" couplers are the happy medium between plastic knuckle couplers and the original Kadees. I use Bachmann EZ-Mate couplers most of the time, but sometimes the Bachmann shanks are too thin for the gearboxes, so they have too much vertical movement. The Kadees have thicker shanks, so they make a better fit where the Bachmanns are too loose. They are certainly more durable than plastic couplers, and the whiskers allow you to mount them quickly. Reliable & durable
I've tried others but they all had issues. Plastic head couplers are not durable and non-centering couplers do not couple reliably, especially on curves.
