Measuring hole size with a pin gauge set is far more precise than using a drill bit, especially if you don't have a complete set of number/letter and standard drill bit sizes. I measured these pins with my Mitutoyo Digimatic calipers, and each pin consistently measured 5 10 thousandths of an inch under their respective markings which is within the accuracy rating of the caliper itself. If you find yourself in need of a good pin gauge set, you can't go wrong with these!

Pins are pretty decent. Checked with high end digital Mitutoyo bench mic that has a resolution of 0.0001”. All pins randomly checked from 0 to +0.0002 which is in spec for a ZZ+ set. The plastic case has a metal pins in the hinges & when closed the pins don’t fall out of their clearly marked molded plastic holes when turned upside down. The pins themselves are clearly laser marked. Nice Chinese M1 set for $50!
