In Quantum Leap, the time travel is done with one's life force, soul, spirit, consciousness and such (and not the usual physical body travel theory you see in such shows as Time Tunnel and many others). There is both a marvelous blend of serious drama (correcting peoples' lives....also a different theory than the usual "can't change a thing") versus punctuated humor here and there. Great writing. Recommended.

Loved watching them. Truly the best. The DVD’s Didn’t Come In the Usual Casing. Instead there were really very cheap pieces of paper with pictures for each covering them. I can easily find all my other DVD’s. This one has to be placed alone and in a zip locked bag so no scratches get on them. Very disappointing. NOT the sellers fault. It’s the way the company packaged it. Great seller. Would Highly Recommend him/her!

The idea of time travel to correct previous mistakes has been a dream of anyone who ever made a bad decision. Many stories have been written with this theme, but as far as i can tell, there is only one present that divides the past from the future. That said, the characters are fun to watch, the computer clunky, and plot twists fasenating. The introduction and ending summation (credits) get tedious after a while, but easily by passed with the remote. I know it was hard the make everything period correct, but I always thought the series ended too soon. A great piece of escapism.

This was a very well made science-fiction series in the 1990s that has a wide variety of subjects throughout modern history. Great attention to detail was made for the different years in regards to autos, signs, dresswear, etc. Very entertaining!

Everyone knows the series, while short lived, was great. So I will not discuss the series much (but be warned for a few spoilers). Season 1 set a standard. Season 2 tested what new things they could do, Sam had to take a woman's place and had to kill to defend people. Season 3 got personal, as Sam leaps into a younger version of himself. Season 4 avoided the stagnant pause of most shows by pushing the envelope further, in one episode he leaps into a chimp, him and a psychic woman who knows who he is fall in love, and gets help from an angel. Season 5 mixed in historical events. While I disagree with Belasari's view of Lee Harvey Oswald as a lone shooter, he still wrote a good 2 part episode on it. Then things get complicated with other people using time traveling as well. When Universal 1st released this series in individual seasons, they changed much of the music after season 1. The biggest disappointment to fans was the season 2 finale did not have Georgia On My Mind. I cannot remember all the original songs, but that one has been restored. The set is designed with a poor design. 1st, it tends to slip out and everything falls to the floor. 2nd, to save money the discs are in cheap cardboard cases, not plastic or even paper. (I recommend getting some paper sleeves to change it to avoid scratching.) While the outer package looks nice, the inner parts do not stand out. The 5 seasons are only different by colors. The top quarter of the discs are used to advertise the company. The set has no special features. While this may be a bummer to most, remember that the cheap skates at Universal did not put any special features on the original release either (other than season 1). That they didn't put captions is a let down. But over all it's a good set designed for an economical purchase, not for extras, so it gets a good rating. I myself had only bought season 1 on the original release & decide to get this to compete the series collection. And I'll be happy to watch one of my favorites when I like. Read full review
