Warranty information is misleading.
The deciding factor for me in buying RIDGID brand tools to replace the worn out cordless saw and driver I currently own was the prospect of having tools with a lifetime warranty. It isn't obvious from the product description on eBay or info on the packaging that the lifetime warranty only applies to purchases made through authorized dealers, i.e., HOME DEPOT. This is not disclosed until one begins the process of completing the registration of the tools required for the lifetime warranty protection. I may not have bought the RIDGID brand had I known this up-front. The tools appear to be good quality, but I have no way of being sure. NOTE: I intend to follow up with RIDGID on this warranty issue but have no reason to believe I will have any success.
