Tricky to install, but works great with Windows 7 Pro.
Requires a technical skill-set to install hardware and software drivers. No instructions came with product. Had to figure out the Y-cable adapters to use and purchase for my PC from eBay. Also, had to find which folder contained the right driver from mini CD disk that matched USB 3.0 PCI Express card. However, after much time and energy expended, got it installed and it works just fine using Windows Pro 7. Next move is to get devices to run with this much faster speed standard. Easy set ut with windows 10
While I haven't actually done any real benchmark speed tests to see if I'm getting the expected throughput of USB 3 compared to my old USB 2 ports, I have say I was very happy that windows 10 (mine is win-10 pro 64 bit) installed the drivers without a hitch. This may be one of the few times so far I've been happy I've had this operating system, because be warned... you get a mini CD labelled "drivers" without even a 'readme" file, automated setup, or anything that would offer a clue to what files to use if i did need to install it myself. Truth be told, its not really clear what the brand or model number is, so I'm not sure I'd have had an easy time getting info from the manufacturer. But it is plug-and-play on windows 10, which for the price is certainly a plus.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

No instructions are included with this card; I was aware of this when I ordered. Under Windows 10, the O/S automatically installed drivers for this card. The card appeared to be working according to the Device Manager. However, in my case, whenever I shut down my computer, it would immediately power back up and boot. This is usually an indication that there was an system error during shut down. The mini CD included with the card has drivers for this card in the folder named: "VIA Driver V4.00B_VL805". After running the EXE and rebooting, this solved my problem. Other than Windows 10, I do not know if the drivers work with other versions of Windows. But as a general rule, mini-port drivers apply to versions 7, 8, 10.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
