These 8G USB flash drives are a great value for creating bootable Windows installation media for installing Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10. They are probably also adequate for creating installation media for Apple Mavericks or Yosemite as well. After trying a few of the cheap Chinese-branded USB sticks, I finally bought these. Not only does the data write faster to this (even the cheap ones that claim to be USB 3.0), it is completely reliable. You can later add more files without worry (the cheap ones get stuck trying to write files to them, even with plenty of memory available). Another big reason to avoid those cheap ones, is that sooooo many of them are flashed with bigger memory than they actually hold (search for fake memory on YouTube if you don't know how this works). So, in short, DON'T EVER BUY cheap memory sticks or SD cards. Stick to reliable brands like this one and save yourself the frustration!

I have always had good performance from SanDisk memory products. No difference with the Cruzer Blades. If you get refurbished, overstock, surplus or clearance versions.....you MAY get some that are flagged as "HARD DISKS". AT one time SanDisk distributed these with that "bit" set in its firmware. Your computer will see these "flagged" drives as "HARD DISKS" attached to your system. They will not be treated as "removable" drives. There are situations (like putting a boot system on the drive) when that is desirable. You cannot change the status of this "bit" so it will stay that way forever. This is not a problem for most uses of the drive but anyone using them should be aware of the situation. Last order of 10 drives... I got one that was flagged as a hard drive.
