I have been in search for a medium tension set of violin strings which will adjust rapidly once strung, require very little retuning after being set, and be impervious to changes in the heat and humidity of the New England seasons. The ZYEX strings are in a class of such violin (4/4) synthetic core strings, tightly wrapped within an alloy best suited, and designed for medium tension use. This lower tension makes a true difference during a two or three hour practice period or a performance when tune, duration, and ease of use counts. Aside from the standard set with an aluminum A-string, they also offer a silver A–string for slightly more money for brighter clarity. The overall timbre of the strings are less bright than all steel set, and offers the musician greater flexibility in bow technique and pressure application. I have purchased ZYEX strings for each of my three violins, each of which is priced in excess of $2,300.00. Priced between $20.00 - $40.00, ZYEX Strings are worth the price for a new beginner Student or an Advanced Professional. One does not need to pay in excess of $100.00 for performance quality stings for daily practice, and I would highly recommend ZYEX strings at any level of musician.
