Well built but prone to early failure.
This Honeywell product is larger than necessary because the body is used for a variety of thermostats with some models having extra functions. The magnetic switch which controls the thermostat is very well constructed and is shielded from dust and functions perfectly. Unfortunately the low voltage signal coming from the gas stove to the thermostat must travel through an additional set of contacts located in the thermostat's separate On - Off switch. My unit failed when these additional contacts developed resistance which resulted in lowering the voltage to the gas relay enough to keep the furnace from running. When the thermostat switched On its resistance went from near zero ohms at first to about 30 ohms within a few seconds. Sometimes the furnace would light when the thermostat first switched on and then die out a few seconds later. Measuring the resistance across the thermostat revealed the problem.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
