I HIGHLY recommend this. I am an unabashed Rachel Brice fan, an intermediate dancer. There is SO much material, you can use this DVD set forever. Clear and concise and slow enough for anyone to pick up. Choreographies are looped in such a way that you can get great muscle memory. Beginners could easily use this and work up to some of the more challenging material, and more advanced dancers will find endless stuff to work on. Best Rachel DVD instructional thus far, really well produced, two good choreographies broken down, practice schedule suggestions, tons of good yoga. Hardest part is figuring out how to get through all the lessons! Mini-lectures are very informative, and the discussion/yoga for backbends is a must-have for anyone interested in healthy laybacks, Turkish folds, etc. Rachel has such an earthly, accessible on-screen persona, very relaxing. Rachel Brice is beautiful to watch, this dvd set is fantastic, on one disc she breaks down a series of drills, which are well constructed and although a little challenging, they are well worth work, rachel demonstrates movement degrees, she takes her time to explain the movement. I bought this for the yoga element as i have never seen this included in any belly dancing dvd and its worth the money for this alone, on the second disc there is two full routines and these are broken down and easy to follow. Overall an excellent set and due to the extent of the content, worth more that the price.
The average (including me) dancer/exerciser won't be able to complete both discs in one sitting, which goes to show you the incredible strength and flexibility of Rachel Brice. The good news is that you don't have to do this all in one sitting! She has several short version ideas and routines to help you build up and develop the abdominal core and back flexibility. The DVD set-up itself is easy to maneuver, and Rachel's instructions are easy to understand. I truly recommend this to all bellydancers, not just those interested in tribal. All dancers would benefit from these exercises. Also, for those yoga buffs who also love to dance, I would check out this DVD!
Ich habe mich zwar nur aufgrund von Rachel Brice als Trainerin für diese Tanz-DVD entschieden, bin aber sehr begeistert, denn nun trainiere ich fast jeden Tag damit. Ob Yoga oder Tanzbewegungen, alles wird einem mit ihrer angenehmen Stimme auf super verständlichem Englisch erklärt. Man kann sich die einzelnen Trainigseinheiten sehr gut selber einteilen oder nutzt die Hilfestellung von Rachels Webside. Die Yoga-Übungen dienen dem entspanntem Atmen, Erwärmen, Abwärmen und dem Dehnen des Körpers. Die Tanz-Übungen helfen einzelne Bewegungen, Körperpartien und Schritte graziös kontrolliert bewegen zu können. Selbst als Anfänger kann man diese DVD gut nutzen, da die Übungen sehr abwechslungsreich sind. Wenn man z.B. denkt: "Puh! Kann nicht mehr!", ist genau in diesem Moment Schluss und auch das Tempo stimmt immer. Es kommt also auch nie Eintönigkeit, Langeweile oder Hektik auf. Jedes Training beendet man mit 30 Minuten Abwärm-Yoga, was einen wirklich tiefenentspannen lässt. Einzige Schwierigkeit, die man am Anfang haben könnte: Sie tanzt manchmal spiegelverkehrt. Wenn man aber weiß, wie die Bewegung geht, also nicht mehr auf sie schaut und nur auf ihre Stimme hört, ist es irrelevant. I have a decent sized collection of bellydance/flow arts dvds and this set is my #1 favorite. I have found it very helpful over the couple yrs I've had it. I highly recommend this dvd set to anyone with interest in bellydance. Rachel Brice is amazing!
