Good & the bad : These bulbs have a nice white color . I believe 4300k. I recommend these in applications where your bulbs are easy to replace. The downside of the silverstar ultras is that they do not last long. Sylvania guarantees 100hrs / 1 year which isn't much. My bulbs lasted about 3yrs which I read is a long time for these. Some have complained of failure shortly after a year. That being said their performance is slightly better than other manufacturers premium headlight bulbs. 4300k is the proper light color in my opinion. Phillips & other manufacturers premium bulbs are in the 3600-4000k range which in my opinion is still to dim yellow in color. Yes you can put hid or led in your stock headlight assembly, but your light patterns are usually all over the place because the housings were not designed for those bulbs. Sometimes to the point where you will blind oncoming traffic. That and technically they are illegal. These silver stars will give you a little better quality of light over the stock bulbs while still being dot approved for your oem headlight housing. So to sum things up.. if your headlights are a pain to get at for bulb replacement you probably don't want to use these. these bulbs are a little brighter and are dot approved. if you're buying these because you think they are going to magically light up the road in ways you never imagined , you will be sadly disappointed. These have only a slight improvement in my opinion. always replace your headlights in pairs . If one fails the other isn't far off. Hope my info helped you . Read full review

Good light, but hard to compare since I've been driving around with one headlight for a couple of months, and anything would be an improvement over that situation. I did a lot of research before buying these bilbs, and they were rated the best for brightness and distance illuminated. I am a little concerned as to how long these bulbs will last given the other reviews that I've read here, but we'll see. So far so good......

It's better than OEM lights! I do recommend these lights, they work great! They are more on the colder side of light, cleaner white light versus stock lights which are more on the warmer side or yellow light. Guessing because it's a colder white color they help you see down the road better and seems to also flood the sides of the road more! This is useful if you travel in areas with a lot of wild life.
