  • Garmin will not keep you on freeways, like to give you the seinic route on farm roads...

My first trip from St. Louis to Florida was completed on about 40% highways and 60% farm roads, lovely sceanery but only at 45 mph or less with lots of small town roads at 20 MPH! This is going back on eBay and being replaced by another Magellan GPS as soon as I get back home. I did a WWW Google search and there were so many others with complains about this defective device from casual users to ambulance drivers! Garmin has 'Wally' doing the software on this device, the hardware seems very sturdy but the software is terrible - also it has no 'Address Book' so every address you need to access you must input manually as a Trip and if you just want to go to a city you have to put in a dummy street address - you can't start with a Zip Code like Magellan can. Terrible device - never again for me! Just google "Garmin can't keep me on highways" YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

  • A good buy

This product gets 5 stars from me even though I would like to see a few minor changes. It has a beautiful, bright easy to read screen. And it has been accurate so far, although, I have only had time to use it for a few trips. . I have used a Tom Tom for the past several years and am used to a few features that are not in this product. I like to have the feature that shows mileage left to go on the screen. The other changes would be in the setup portion. Such as choosing the voice and a few other options. I will be taking a few very long and complicated trips in a few weeks. I will run it along side my Tom Tom to determine it's accuracy. I know that the Tom Tom knows the way so it will be interesting to compare them.

  • Just got a new car.

My car has GPS if I have a smartphone, I don't, so this is just right for me it would work with a smartphone but works really good without...I just took my first trip with it and love it. This is the first GPS I've had and it's very easy to use. I'm happy!

  • Same performance Bigger screen

I have been using Garmin for a very long time now. Of all the other models I have used before there were always some small issue. Now they have faster technology and a bigger screen. I love this GPS especially coupled with an HD receiver this has been an excellent GPS module. The only down side is making sure the placement won't obstruct your view.

  • Best GPS!!

I own this same GPS, and thought so highly of it that I bought this one off eBay as a gift for my cousin. This GPS is designed so well that I have learned how to understand it at a glance and have become to reply on it. I wonder how I survived all those years on the road without it. It's a modern technological wonder. I highly recommend this GPS.

  • Bigger is Better

I am not a computer person, but this product was easy to use and functions just as it was represented. I really like the large screen and all of the features. Mine is the less expensive model, but I am well pleased, and very satisfied.

  • poor 12v power cord

the 12v power cord supplied with the gps is not well manufactured(Chinese), it seems to be about 1-2mm smaller than the standard US power outlet. This requires me to insert a tooth pick along the side to insure a satisfactory connection. I have 4 vehicles and its the same on all!

  • Excellent!

Perfect for my husband. It is large and easy to read. It also gives auto finish on street names.

  • Replacement and improvement on Delorme Street Atlas

I had been using the Delorme Street Atlas for the last 10 years or so, and recently found out two game-changing things: First, there is no 2016 version of Street Atlas, and second, Garmin is buying out Delorme. As a Garmin marine GPS76 user, and having a Garmin nuvi 1450 as backup in my truck, the shift to another larger Garmin was a natural progression. The integration of the Garmin computer-based "Basecamp" software with the nuvi 2757 was slick and effective, providing most of the features of the now-orphaned Delorme packages. In some areas, it is a distinct improvement. This hardware-software solution looks like my future traveling companion. Highly recommended.
